Lace and Pearls

copyright Jacob Sommer, words and music

I was walking to my lady's house a mere half day away
When I saw a great distraction I'll remember to this day
A lady of distinction asked for help to come today
And all this lady wore was lace and pearls.

Chorus:
Lace and pearls, lace and pearls, quite enchanting on the girls
Yes they'll draw a man's attentions though they might warp his intentions
Yet it's worth a close inspection when a girl wears lace and pearls.

I felt such great compassion for this lovely lissome lass
Who was standing barefoot weeping of misfortune come to pass
O her man had all but scorned her for a reason very crass
He didn't like her dressed in lace and pearls.

Chorus

My eyes roamed o'er her figure for her eyes they were divine
And her hair and skin were lovely altogether very fine
Her breasts and ankles perfect and she would the moon outshine
Packaged perfectly in garb of lace and pearls.

Chorus

Her gaze was quite bewitching, even moreso was her smile
Her voice it left me twitching so I tarried for a while
And when she did approach me I was totally beguiled
By this lovely lonely lass in lace and pearls.

Chorus

She asked if I would take her home for it was getting late
She wanted to go home and muse about her lonely state
And would I care to listen to the tale she would relate?
As we walked I hoped she'd doff her lace and pearls.

Chorus

My heart it hammered strongly as I followed where she led
My mind was overcome with thoughts of taking her to bed
My fantasies were hoping that just maybe we could wed
I was smitten with this girl in lace and pearls.

Chorus

I only found my mind when her front door she did unlock
And what I saw was sending me completely into shock
I saw impossibility as lust became a rock
For my lady was the lass in lace and pearls!

Chorus

She took me by the hand and then she held me to her breast
She said, "So I surprised you with the way that I am dressed."
She held me and she kissed me and that night I knew no rest
What would you do with a lass in lace and pearls?

Chorus

Lace and pearls, lace and pearls, like her tresses and her curls
Yes they'll draw a man's attentions though they will warp his intentions
Yet it's worth a long inspection when your girl wears lace and pearls.
