I recently found out that Bob Kanefsky wrote a similar filk back in 1981; click here to see it.

Till Daddy Takes The Keyboard Away

(ttto "Fun Fun Fun" by the Beach Boys)
(chorus by Marshall McGowan, with additional inspiration from this User Friendly cartoon, and my roommate's perverse sense of humor)

She's hacked her daddy's password and she's cruising all over the Net now
Seems she forgot all about her six essays like she told her old man now
No Net Nanny can stop her, she's found the sites of her wildest dreams now
And she'll have fun, fun, fun, till her daddy takes the keyboard away.

She's found the MUDs and the MUCKs and she's flirting with me every day now
Between that and our e-mail, we're really having some fun now
Her daddy must wonder why she's always on the Net now
But we'll have fun, fun, fun, till her daddy takes the keyboard away.

Well, her daddy's not as dumb or naive as he looks now
He's a hacker himself and he sure remembers his teens now
But it turns out it's cool, she's in my homeroom class now
So we'll have fun, fun, fun, now that daddy took the keyboard away.
