Mom's Brownies

Ingredients:
4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
½ cup (one stick) of margarine
4 eggs, unbeaten
2 cups sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup flour (matzo cake meal for Passover)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts

Put the chocolate and shortening in a small pan and melt over low heat. Sift together dry ingredients, then stir in sugar. Add eggs, stir them up a bit with the dry ingredients, then add melted chocolate and margarine, and vanilla. Stir really well, then add chopped nuts and stir a bit more.

Spread in a well-greased rectangular pan (about 9x12 inches). Bake for about 30 minutes at 325 degrees. A knife inserted in center should come out clean. Cool for about 10 minutes and cut into squares.
